Kuben & Cheryl’s Tamil Wedding | Shallcross Tamil Society Hall, Durban

Here’s a look at a simple and traditional tamil wedding of the unusually tall groom, Kuben and his lovely wife Cheryl. Thoroughly enjoyed working with you guys and humbled that you picked me. All the best on your journey together….

How did you meet?
We met via our siblings. Kuben’s brother is married to my sister. You can say it was a connection call…lol

What is your most special memory of your wedding?
I asked Kuben this question his first answer was “the breyani” lol…. and then he said placing the ring on my finger…ahhh. For me it was, having to stand on a stool to place the garland around Kuben’s neck.

What was the hardest part of the planning process?
The guest list. It’s very difficult selecting your guests, especially when you are Indian.

Did  you experience any unexpected turns during the wedding process and how  did you handle it?
Nothing.

Any advice for brides-to-be?
Start preparing a year before the wedding. Shop around, read wedding mags, there so many ideas out there. Always remember as a girl, you dream of your wedding before you even meet your prince charming, so try and make that day as memorable as that dream…

Looking back, is there  anything you would have done differently?
No. I was saying to Kuben the other day, I would love to go back and re-live the entire wedding…
